Daddies 1st 10k

I don't know if I have bragged on here about Daddy lately but, he has picked up running. Like everything he does he has completely committed and holy moly is he doing awesome. He is actually  signed up to run his first half marathon in a couple months. Tonight he ran a local 10k with his running club and did awesome by meeting his goal! He finished in 48:16 and we couldn't be more proud!

For this race they shuttled us to the finish line so we had plenty of time to get set up and ready to watch the runners come in. Jackson made this sign for daddy this week. He wanted it to say "Go Daddy Run" and colored it our favorite colors. The calculator is his "keyboard, so he can work". He was typing in the numbers of the runners as they crossed the finish line. Hey, what ever keeps him occupied. ;)

It rained pretty hard about 30 minutes before the race started so I carried the umbrella with us just in case. I think a strong wind blew some rain drops on us while we were waiting and he NEEDED to get it out and be safe from the rain.

Daddy is almost here. He was so nervous about the people standing in the road. He wanted them to move so he could see better.

Here he is! Go Daddy Run. I wish I would have videoed this moment because what you can't see and hear is Jackson screaming for B. It was so sweet! Boy, was he waving that sign too.

Great finish. Right at his goal!!! and
HE CAME IN 1ST IN HIS AGE GROUP!!!

After race stretching and Jackson was giving him bandaids for some reason. He was so proud.

Great job Daddy! We love you so much.

Pre-K

It happened. Our baby started school and he will go for the next 17 or so odd years including college. Crazy cakes.

We choose to send Jackson to a private school in town. It just felt right, more so after daddy went for Open house and left feeling 100% about our decision. Jackson's teachers this year are Mrs. Jennifer and Mrs. Kelley. They are both so sweet.

Here are some pictures from open house. He was really cautious, checking everything out but, we were hopeful his first day would be tear free.

We have really been talking up school. Got some new shoes, a special book to read.

Nanny even came over one day and helped Jackson make a countdown banner. He was very excited last night when he was at the bottom!

So this morning we got up and ready for the big day. I won't lie, I was nervous. In true Jackson form he ran in the front door, excited to find his class. He jumped in the room and didn't even look back. Literally. I was so thankful. Really, I couldn't have asked for anything more than him to be that excited.

His first day went great. He was so excited when I picked him up. Talking non stop about his day. When I asked him what he learned today and I quote he said "Not to much. I learned Racoons are octernal (Nocternal). but, it was cool". So there ya have it. He is very excited to go back and is already planning his snack for tomorrow. I guess snack time is a big deal in pre-k. ;)

After school, I told him he could pick anywhere to go special for lunch. He picked Waffle House. Barf. He talked the entire lunch and even gave me this little dancing show he wanted me to tape. I would say Day 1 was a huge success. We are so proud. :) Yes, all of these words and emotions for a 4 day a week, half day pre-k. Lord, help us. Having kids makes you a softy.
